Baked Halibut With Parmesan Bread Crumbs

 
  • 6 halibut steaks, 1 inch thick (8 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/8 tsp dried thyme
  • Lemon wedges
  • Salt and pepper to taste
    

Place steaks in an oiled shallow baking pan.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper.  Combine bread crumbs, garlic, oil, cheese, and thyme and mix until the texture resembles a thick paste.  Pat mixture onto the surface of the halibut.  Bake in a preheated oven at 450 degrees for 14 minutes per inch of thickness, or until fish is no longer translucent when tested with a fork.  Garnish with lemon wedges and serve.
